quick life update and reflections
Hello everybody!
Let's start with this—it's been a while. I've been catching up on client work, and the amount of time it's been since I've last written online surprises me. This brings me to my next point, which is, more than anything, a note to self: if it's important to you, you'll continue to do it consistently regardless of whether you are getting paid to do it. (Now add an extra minute to my next cold plunge as a reminder with a kick).
Here are 4 quick updates of what I've been up to:
1) I'm continuing to film luxury destination weddings, and I'm enjoying it a lot.
2) I'm currently less interested in making videos for other businesses, unless it's a special circumstance and ultimately for a brand that I believe in. However, I still love making videos and films, so that will continue.
3) I'm back with the podcast, and I intend to stay consistent with it this time. I upload the episodes of The Thomas Galgani Show to my YouTube channel and also on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. I interviewed my parents before they left for Europe to hike the Camino de Santiago (they're currently over 200 miles into it)—we hope to sit down together again after they return.
4) I'm currently on day 38 of "75 Hard," which is a mental toughness program (NOT a fitness challenge, but yes...it is challenging) created by entrepreneur Andy Frisella.
I'm also spending a lot of time with my 2-year-old son, and it's great. This isn't much of an update, but it's something I don't think I've talked about in these letters before. My time with him has allowed me to learn a lot about myself and given me more time to reflect on things that are happening in the world. When you intentionally don't use daycare and you're trying manage multiple things like my wife and me, things can sometimes feel overwhelming...like there isn't a lot of time for anything. On the other hand, it also feels like there's so much more time than ever before because our son forces us to slow down—I'm grateful to him for this, and, in the coming weeks, I'll probably be writing about some of the many new things I've been observing about life and human behavior.
That's it for today, but it's great to be in touch with all of you again. Thank you for reading.
